This amazing Star of David necklace comes from our latest collection of handcrafted Jewish jewelry. At the heart of a round sterling silver disc a cut out Star of David made of gold. The star of David is the most significant Jewish emblem. The motif is also known by its Hebrew name Magen David , meaning the protector of David or a shield . According to tradition King David's warriors used a hexagram shaped shields in battle which drew divine protection upon them.
At the center of the round disc a famous verse is beautifully inscribed in Hebrew: "The LORD bless thee out of Zion; and see thou the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life" (Book of Psalms, Shir Lamaalot, 128:5).
